Soldier, sailor and all-round sportsman - Royal Navy officer, NHS doctor and consultant anaesthetist; motorcyclist/cyclist, fitness fanatic and Ironman triathlete. Crispin Swinhoe is a man for all seasons. Here in his fast-paced memoirs he relates yarns about his childhood, schooling, and rebellious brushes with authority, his many global travels, service as a Royal Navy Commando attached to the SAS, and participation in two wars (and four marriages), to say nothing of his controversial and forthrightly stated views on love, life and the price of frogs.
An unusual man: an unusual book.
In my book I talk about many aspects of my life and how they have affected me. I relate these experiences to the world around me and the contradictions I see.
I write about school, medical school, life in the Forces and the NHS, as well as my sporting loves and other passions, which include motorbikes and bicycles.
I speak of other facets of my life. I wear my heart on my sleeve and tell it how I see it.
I devote a whole chapter to alcohol with which, at times, I have had an unhealthy relationship. I make suggestions for those who find themselves in a similar position.
